Wheatgrass is a commonly found herb in India and is known for its nutritional value. It is known, as Triticum aestivum in its biological terms. It contains enzymes like protease, cytrochrome, amylase, lipase, transshydrogenase and SOD (super oxide dismutase). Besides these enzymes, it also contains all the essential amino acids especially alanine, asparatic acid, glutamic acid, arginine and serine, which are helpful in providing good amount of protein in body.

Wheatgrass is high in oxygen like all green plants that contain chlorophyll. The brain and all body tissues function at an optimal level in a highly-oxygenated environment.

Chlorophyll is anti-bacterial and can be used inside and outside the body as a healer.

Wheatgrass juice helps stop the growth and development of unfriendly bacteria. It acts to produce an unfavorable environment for bacterial growth, rather than by any direct action upon the bacteria themselves. Water-soluble chlorophyll inhibits the action of proteolytic bacteria (which break down protein into simpler substances) and enzymes.

Vitamin B-2 (Riboflavin) to aid in the release of energy from foods and promote normal growth and development;

Wheatgrass juice can dissolve the scars that are formed in the lungs from breathing acid gasses. The effect of carbon monoxide is minimized since chlorophyll increases hemoglobin production.

Vitamin C to guard against cardiovascular disease, boost immunity, aid in wound healing, help form collagen in connective tissues;

Wheatgrass juice is nutritious . Wheatgrass juice contains most of the vitamins and minerals needed for human maintenance. It is a whole meal and a complete protein with about 30 enzymes and is approximately 70% crude chlorophyll. Wheatgrass is also an excellent source of calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, sulphur, cobalt, and zinc.

Chlorophyll (wheatgrass) rebuilds the bloodstream. Studies of various animals have shown chlorophyll to be free of any toxic reaction. The red cell count was returned to normal within 4 to 5 days of the administration of chlorophyll, even in those animals which were known to be extremely anemic or low in red cell count.

It can also be seen as an effective fighter of tooth decay. Your teeth are the focal point of your smile and when they sparkle and shine you are presenting your best self to the world.

Wheatgrass juice´s high vitamin content is of benefit to some skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis and also helps give healthy looking hair. Wheatgrass is also said to benefit dandruff problems.

A major benefit of taking wheatgrass juice is that it is easily digested with little energy. Wheatgrass provides crude chlorophyll from a living plant, which is the most effective way to gain the full therapeutic benefits of cholorophyll. Just an ounce of wheatgrass juice per day provides a host of benefits, while a therapeutic program to treat a specific condition or illness may include two or three ounces.

Wheatgrass has an amazing ability to concentrate nutrients from the soil - maybe why it has been such a successful plant in evolutionary terms. Scientists have established that it has to be cultivated carefully and harvested at the 'jointing' stage, when content of chlorophyll, enzymes and other nutrients is at its peak.
