Mercedes-Benz AMG Driving Academy

AFFALTERBACH, Germany — The United States has plenty of driving schools, but few can compare with the AMG Driving Academy — a place where you can tackle the curves in an AMG roadster and get coaching from experts.

Founded by Mercedes-AMG in 2007, the academy offers everything from introductory driving events to advanced targeted racetrack training. Five programs are offered in a range of levels of difficulty and required skill: Emotion, Basic, Advanced, Pro and Master. Drivers can safely and steadily familiarize themselves with advanced techniques at legendary racetracks like the Nürburgring's Nordschleife loop and the Grand Prix course at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

AMG captures driving times and longitudinal and traverse acceleration, tracking each participant's progress during an adrenaline-filled experience. Skilled drivers can also benefit from the exclusive AMG Masters Sports Trophy competition series, a three- or four-day event in which drivers compete to collect points for a unique "top prize": a chance to drive the latest AMG DTM C-Class.

And what could be cooler than AMG Winter Sporting in Arjeplog, Sweden, an event that lets you navigate spike-equipped high-performance AMG vehicles around an enclosed ice track?

Students can drive their own AMG models or similarly tuned models provided by the AMG Driving Academy. Choices include the C63 AMG, the CLS63 AMG and the SLK55 AMG Black Series.

Full details are available at the AMG Driving Academy Web site.
