The company continues to work on a worthy challenger to the iPhone.
Nokia has codenamed the challenger as Tube. The company said that Tube would be their first touch device.
Nokia Tube concept was showcased at the Evans Data Developer Relations Conference in Redwood City. The company added that Tube would support Java unlike the iPhone which lacks support for it and Flash.
Just released reports suggest that the Apple iPhone’s Safari web browser has become the most popular mobile web browser in the US market. They dominate the Nokia’s Symbian platform based web browser.
Nokia has not revealed any dates for the possible launch of this device. Hopefully, they do it soon as Apple would soon be out with the second generation iPhone which is likely to support 3G networks.
It would be interesting to see how Nokia enhances the web experience for the end user considering they would have to match the capabilities of Apple Safari in this device.
