Netflix Site Down On March 24, 2008 Due To Outage

People have been reporting today on March 24, 2008 that the Netflix web site has been down already for more than five hours. Perhaps an outage or anything else has caused the Netfli site being down, but we know that the technicians are working hard to end the Netflix outage.

When we visited Netflix's web site we found the following message just informing that the site is down. Well, you can already see that the site is down, but there was is no explaination.

Netflix Message on Site Being Down

"Our site is temporarily down. We're working hard to get the site up as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience. You can contact Netflix Customer Service at 1-888-638-3549. -- Your friends at Netflix"

While Netflix is down and the company is not yet explaining what has been going on, Netflix is not loosing the opportunity advertise their business on the empty message.

On the top of the white page where is written the above message informing about the Netflix Video Rental Outage, the site has another advertising message, which reads the following: "DVD rentals delivered to your home - plans from only $4.99 a month! No late fees - ever! Fast and free shipping both ways. FREE Trial."

If we sound a little critical about Netflix, it is because we don't find it morally correct to advertise on an empty page without explaining what is going on, but just rather stating what is obvious.
